Cindy Janecka, LCSW
Cindy Janecka is a Christian author and inspirational speaker whose passion is to cast a vision of hope for those walking through the trials and challenges of life. As a licensed clinical social worker and marriage and family counselor for more than 30 years, Cindy has helped others work through difficulties in life and relationships, and she shares those same truths whether she is speaking to an individual or large audiences. She has counseled in private practice as well as with students at the Baylor University Counseling Center where she has been able to pursue her passion for sharing the hope and encouragement of God with young adults. Cindy and her husband, Darrell, have worked with the youth at their church for more than 25 years, in addition to teaching marriage preparation classes for engaged couples with Legacy Family Ministries. She has led a women’s Bible study for more than a decade and continues to disciple youth and young adults. Cindy shares her battle with cancer in her first book, This Can't Be Happening: A story of hope for those with cancer and those who love them. Cindy’s story of her own cancer journey brings a personal and powerful message of God’s faithful presence and provision in times suffering. She also chronicles her family's journey through heartbreak and hope in her second book, My Heart Hurts: Finding Hope in Heartache. Cindy's newest release, The Challenge to Trust on the Path to Peace leads readers to explore God's commands to trust Him and what that looks like in each of our lives. It is filled with practical ways to grow our faith and trust in the Lord. Cindy earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Trinity University and a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University. Cindy and Darrell live in Woodway, Texas, have four grown children and two adorable granddaughters!
